R1/R2 Meeting Dates for the upcoming school year:

Fall (Girls) Volleyball: 

Sundays at 5:00 p.m. at Valley High School, 2839 Burnham Ave., Las Vegas 89109

Spring (Boys) Volleyball:

Sundays at 5:00 p.m. at Valley High School, 2839 Burnham Ave., Las Vegas 89109

Note:  R1  (Referee) / R2 (Umpire) officials must be 18 years or older and out of high school. They are required to attend scrimmages
(the week prior to the season opening) for training and evaluation. They also must pass a test prepared by the National Federation of
State HS Assns.

Scorekeepers: Volleyball scorekeepers will sign up for training and certification during the two weeks prior to the season beginning
and will meet as necessary during the season. Scorekeepers are only assigned to 4A schools which play Monday  through Friday, at
4:00 and 5:00 p.m.  Normally one scorer will do a B match and the other scorer will do both the JV and the Varsity matches. Besides
keeping the scorebook, scorekeepers manage the scoreboard and the clock.(For more information on scorers and timers, click on

R1  (Referee) / R2 (Umpire): In the fall, officials are assigned to high school matches throughout Southern Nevada: from Tonopah,
Nevada, to Needles, California. The matches cover 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A high schools. In the spring, only the 4A area schools in the
Las Vegas Valley area have men's volleyball.

A referee and umpire are assigned to all matches; however, all 4A Varsity matches have 4 officials: referee, umpire, and 2 line judges.
For 4A matches, 2 officials do the B match while another 2 officials do the JV match in an adjoining gym: then the 4 officials get together
and officiate the Varsity match. Most 4A matches are played Monday  through Friday, and start at 4:00 p.m. requiring the officials to be
in place by 3:30 p.m. The two officials assigned to matches outside the Las Vegas Valley area receive travel pay and usually do a
minimum of one JV match and one Varsity match.
 SNOA also provides line judges for UNLV volleyball and at times provides officials for other volleyball leagues and tournaments.
